On the 7th, 8th and 9th November from 11.00 – 4.00 p.m. a large Art
Installation, created by London based artist Angela Wright, will be on view
in the chancel of Cotterstock Church. The installation “Broken Lives” is
inspired by John McCrae’s poignant poem “In Flanders Fields” and reflects
on the aftermath of war, the loss of life, the destruction and all the lost
dreams. Alongside Angela’s work visitors will be able to see displays of
memorabilia from both WW1 and WW2 and watch a video remembering
the Great War Years. At 11.00 a.m. on the 7th and 8
th November visitors
will be able to see and hear the benefice bell ringers and watch the bells,
which are a designated war memorial, ringing in the tower on a monitor in
the nave.
Admission is free, hot drinks and delicious cakes will be on sale (cash
only) every day. Please note, there are steps in church and a toilet will be
on site.
